19 March 2009

The meeting was held on Thursday 19th March 2009 at Crewe Hall, Cheshire.

Crewe Hall is a breath-taking Jacobean manor house which rises up from behind 50 giant sentries of hornbeam trees which line the drive as you approach the site; of which the main hall dates back to the Normans. Originally built between 1616 and 1636 by Ranulph Crewe, this grade I listed building was largely rebuilt in 1866, after a fire, to a design by architect Edward Barry, also known for Covent Garden Theatre and Charing Cross Station.

It is located just off Junction 16 of the M6 motorway on the A5020 towards Crewe and is approximately 29 miles from Manchester Airport.

The programme began with Nick Paterson, Global General Manager at Caterpillar Logistics Services Ltd, who presented how the company works successfully in logistics using the Oliver Wight Framework.

This was followed by Gary Hicks, Senior Director – Demand Process at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company Ltd.  Gary presented RJ Reynold’s cascade from the initial education to the on-going education.

The third client presentation was given by Stuart Cummings, Operations Director at Morgan Carbon Europe, who discussed the journey and process that they have embarked upon with Oliver Wight to develop Integrated Business Management.

The final presentation of the day, ‘Class A Performance meets Class A Technology’, was given by Don Brenchley, UK Pre-Sales Manager at JDA.
