Proven Path Club - Ettington Chase Stratford-upon-Avon
13 March 2003
The first meeting of 2003 was held on Thursday 13th March.
Ettington Chase in Stratford upon Avon was chosen as the new venue for 2003. It is set in 11 acres of landscaped Warwickshire countryside, and ideally located close to the M40 (Junction 11 and 15), and is purpose built to provide the very latest in twenty-first century conference facilities.
We also introduced a new style agenda that was adopted from the successful agenda used at the November 2002 meeting, which received very positive feedback
We were delighted to have Dawn Dent, Global Supply Chain Planning and Development Manager from Perkins Engines present. She took us through their journey to Class ‘A’ as one of the largest sites to have achieved this status within Europe over the past few years.
Anne-Marie Kilkenny, Global Supply Chain and Purchasing Director of Flexsys presented how they recognised the need to align their global sourcing strategy with their value disciplines and how they positioned purchasing for profit.
Following lunch, we presented the discussion panel entitled ‘The Key Role of People’, a topic that has been constantly requested by, and is of great interest to, many of our clients.
We
were delighted to have on the panel Keith Hoey, Production and Systems
Manager of Alcoa Europe; Lindsay Stratton, Managing Director of Luxfer
Gas Cylinders and Bernard Galton, Human Resources Director of DARA.
The session consisted of a 20-minute presentation from each company followed by a question and answer session chaired by Peter Hill, Director of Oliver Wight.
